Dump Your Routines!
I’m not saying you have to do this indefinitely, but I am suggesting that if you are a heavily routine-based PUA (i.e. Mystery Method, Speed Seduction, or similar stacking methods), try dropping every line, gambit, and story you typically use in your stack. Try doing it for a week (or better yet…a month!) and see what happens. You might be surprised that you can still get the girl without any of it, once you just relax, exhibit a warm dominance, and build positive compliance. After doing this for a bit, you can even bring back those routines and notice just how much more effective they are!!
As an example of this, I decided to give it a try on a trip to LA. I met a couple of cute English girls on “holiday” in California. I decided that I was going to get one of these girls (perky brunette) without using a single move in my standard bag o’ tricks (and trust me, at this stage in my game, this was an extremely difficult thing to do!). So what did I do? I talked about whatever came to my head (assuming it wasn’t a standard gambit) and incrementally built physical compliance. She complied to my every escalation because I exuded a warm dominance that women instinctively find attractive. With every compliance she backwards rationalized that she must be attracted to me because she keeps complying with more and more escalations. It was at this point that I started thinking….”Maybe this encyclopedia of DHV-spiked routines that I’ve amassed in my cranium is kind of extraneous!?”
Think of it this way….Homo sapiens ( haha…I said “homo” :-p ) as a species have existed for over a hundred thousand years and were mostly incapable of communicating verbally for a majority of this time frame. Evidence suggests that it has only been in the past 10,000 or so years that humans developed a rudimentary mode of communication (i.e. grunting, moaning, hollering, etc) to convey things to other humans. More complex language was not realized until about 5,000 years ago. If you want to go further down this rabbit hole you can also read Dr. Julian Jaynes’ “The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind” for a crazy look at how human consciousness was formed and how humans were largely automatons until as recent as 2,000 or so years ago (That’s right! Jaynes illustrates how humans were able to speak, read, and write complex language and yet could not distinguish themselves as an individual or act according to their own volitions: everything was just pure instinct!). Why am I bringing all this up? Well, basically up until only a few thousand years ago, verbal communication didn’t mean diddly-squat! And yet the earth is extremely populated…which means there have been a few people fucking in the past.
Here’s the deal. Guys who get into stacking methods (and let’s face it, that’s most of us) often tend to think about routines like magical spells or incantations (I always imagine a D&D nerd emerging from his parent’s basement to cast a level 5 charm spell on the enchanting elf princess to steal her away and drag her back to his nerd lair). You will think, “I have the magical ‘who lies more?’ opener which guarantees to cast a love/lust spell on a woman every time it is uttered from my mouth.” Yes, I’m making a parody of the thinking here, but sit and think for a minute about your favorite routines. I know that I used to think there was something near magical about telling my “Bonnie ‘n Clyde” routine that I had perfected (”If I can just get to the stage in the interaction where I can utter this routine, she’s gonna sleep with me” :-P)
Listen, I’m not saying that routines aren’t an effective tool in your toolbox. They can keep your mouth busy (thus turning off her logical thinking if done right) while you subcommunicate true attractive qualities and then gain further compliance and escalate. They can be used to spike buying temperature temporarily. They can be used to influence emotions and such directly (a la NLP-based seduction). But none of it is completely necessary. Trust me guys, try going routine-less for a bit and see what you can do without them….then if you want, you can always bring them back.
